Professor of Psychiatry at IU School of Medicine, will discuss how new findings in the fields of autism spectrum disorder and fragile X syndrome research can help shape the best care available for individuals affected with these disorders. Arc of Indiana Reports No Change
to Support Services Waiver

School personnel have been asking if changes are being made to the priority criteria for the Support Services Waiver for young adults leaving school. The Arc of Indiana is monitoring budget issues and reports that no chagne has been made in the effort to move students leaving high school onto the Support Services Waiver. more


Proposed Changes for the DSM for ASD

The fifth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders will be published in May, 2013. Proposed revisions to the diagnostic criteria for psychiatric diagnoses are posted online for public review. Read about the changes and comment at dsm5.org.

Dr. Joshua Diehl is studying how children with autism spectrum disorders and typically developing children perform on a range of language comprehension tasks. Details

U of M Research Study
The University of Michigan Center for Motor Behavior and Pediatric Disabilities will study teaching children and adolescents with ASD to ride a two-wheel bicycle without training wheels, and will hold a bicycle camp in South Bend June 7 - 11. Details
